  the bible shows two opposing gods.

  personally, i believe god is love and the angry god of fear is an imposter.

  FHN, can I ask you a question? You say you are a Universalist. Yet, when posting on White Dove's thread, you ask what a UU is? I actually like a lot of things about Universalists. I am just confused if you are one, why you would ask what they are? Please don't take this as confrontational, I am just confused.

  "Do not destroy" your file after reinstatement ...

  karl adams, writing department overseer, wrote a letter to president knorr (november 18, 1971), questioning the keeping of voluminous files containing embarrassing information on disfellowshipped persons.

  even after individuals were reinstated, their files were retained:.

  "at the present time the names of even those reinstated are kept in the file, and bulky records are kept of their cases, labeled 'do no destroy.

  All those creepy files. This is a religion that makes sure you never feel forgiven or clean. I never realized this until I had the displeasure of observing a kangaroo court deal with my young son.

  I got to see New orleans once. A lot of history there and I love the music. I think they are going to have to give up on living in much of this area if it is wiped out again. There are a lot of old plantation homes along the Mississippi River by the levees. I toured several. I wonder if they have/will be affected too?

  I think they will do things better this time as all eyes are upon them. Hope so!

  i was on a long vacation in mexico and had to stay with family who are jw, so i couldn't log on to this site.

  what is this i hear about jwd closing?

  JWD was to close by the end of this year. Simon is now looking into some other options to keep a forum going now. That's the way I understand it. cl

  I met with a surgeon yesterday about blood - wow

  i was asked by a friend to go with an older sister yesterday to the hospital to talk with her surgeon about her upcoming major surgery.

  hospital liason committee told her to watch the society's video on blood, and if she can't get her surgeon to agree on non-blood treatments, then they will help.

  it was the weirdest experience of my life.

  I have seen quite a few witnesses and how they deal with doctors, working in the hospital. Many of the older ones are scared to death of the medical system. They think someone is going to try and force blood on them, even if their condition has nothing to do with needing a blood transfusion. They are afraid to sign the papers for consent for treatment and they insist on writing no blood transusions on every paper.

  With the fraction policy now, no one can make sense out of the nonsense. It is a shame they told this elderly lady to watch a video and figure it out. Bonafide, you sound like you were a help to her, even if she didn't realize it.

  Lady Lee, what you describe sounds like a drug addict. They are always chasing that first high and have to use more and more drugs to even get close.

  So, I guess it is like a drug.

  FHN, I hope you're right. I don't fear God, but I have a hard time understanding his permission of suffering in this world. cl
